CVS Gift Card Scenario (week of 10/23/11)

I found a LOT of good deals in this week's Gift Card list. For a FULL list of the items on this week's list, be sure to view my previous post here on the blog with all the details. Here is what I bought this week at CVS toward my Gift Card (I chose a $10 CVS Gift Card.):

  • 4 Cheetos/Fritos 2/$6
  • 8 Gatorade $1.99 each BOGO (2/$1.99)
  • 4 Kleenex $1 each
  • 1 Scott Choose-A-Size paper Towels $6 - $1Q **

I paid $17.96 (after Qs and $10 Gift Card Reward) for everything listed here.

I did the math and I come up with the following prices per item on average
(at approx 60c to the dollar):
  • Cheetos/Fritos $1.80 each
  • Gatorade $1.19 each BOGO (2/$1.19 or 60c each)
  • Kleenex 60c each
  • Scott Choose-A-Size paper Towels $3.59

Don't forget to check your Qs. You may have some that I didn't or you may be able to come up with a scenario of your own with different products that works better for you and your lifestyle. Feel free to share these with us on the FB page. :o)
**I found so many items this week that I realized that I had over spent by $6 toward this card (I bought 2 paper towels instead of just the one mentioned in the scenario). The good news is that that $6 will be used toward a second gift card! :-) Now to figure out $24 in additional products to buy.

CVS Gift Card List (week of 10/23/11)

With a $30 purchase of specially marked items in this week's CVS ad, you can get a $10 gift card.
($30-->$10card)
The gift cards shown in the ad are: CVS, Barne's & Noble, Applebee's, Old Navy companies, Shell gas, Macy's, Gap, and American Express (not sure if there are others to choose from).
Limit 5 per week while supplies last (no rainchecks). See store for full details.

The $30 purchase is BEFORE the coupons, so you can really save a bundle when you factor in the $10 gift card. One trick I have figured out is that you don't have to be over or even exactly at the $30 mark on reward deals at CVS, so if an item is $9.99 the 1c difference to the next dollar amount does not matter toward your total.
Items included in purchase requirement choices:
  • Gold Medal All-purpose flour (5 lbs) 2/$5
  • Kraft Easy Mac, Deluxe, or Homestyle dinner $2.99
  • Cheez-It 7.5-9oz, or Kellogg's Special K multi-grain crackers or cracker chips $1.99
  • Cheetos or Fritos 8.5-10.5oz (select) 2/$6
  • Sally Hansen Beauty Tools, Nail Color or Treatments BOGO 50% (prices vary)
  • Gatorade or Sobe Thirst Quencher 32oz or Lifewater 20oz (select). BOGO (I'm not sure of the exact prices)
  • Duracell AAA, AA 16pk, C, D 8pk, 9-volt 4pk, UltraPower AAA or AA 12pk $10.99
  • Arm & Hammer liquid laundry detergent 25-32 loads or 2N1 dryer cloths 40ct 2/$7
  • Excedrin migraine or extra strength 250ct $10.99
  • Kleenex facial tissue regular 110ct or w/lotion 78ct $1
  • Scott bathroom tissue 12pk $8
  • Scott Choose-A-Size mega rolls 6pk $6
Don't forget to use your coupons for EXTRA savings on this Gift Card deal!! ;o)

If I missed an item in the ad or there are other unadvertised items on the gift card list that are not listed here, I do apologize for human error. Also, I can not be held responsible if the store does not allow a deal for any reason.

Shopping at Walgreens and CVS (week of 10/16/11)

I don't want to disappoint everyone, but I really did not find enough in the CVS and/or Walgreens ads this week to make it worth a special trip to the stores. I will, however, tell you about a couple of deals that I found that are Money Makers (MMs).

I will also be comprising a list for CVS of the "Gift Card" deals for your convenience. This will be posted in a day or two. :o)

Here are the deals I am highlighting:

If you got a 50c catalina from Walgreens for their W Brand pads, be sure to use it when purchasing yours this week. They are FREE with the RR, but a 50c MM with the Q added.
$2 - 50cWQ - $2RR = 50c MM

If you still have your $8/2 Covergirl cosmetic Q, you can use it at Wal-Mart on 2 eyeshadow singes for a $1.72 MM.
2x$3.14 - $8/2Q = $1.72 MM

Don't forget to stay tuned for the CVS Gift Card list that will be posted soon! :o)
