Tuesday Turnaround: Spring Break "Staycation" Ideas

Tuesday Turnaround: From turning something old into something "new" to turning your thinking around, you can save yourself some $money$ either way.

Spring Break is HERE in East Texas!!

Are you unable to go out of town?

Well, here are a few ideas to keep the kids entertained and stay on your budget at the same time:
  • Specially marked boxes of Totino's Pizza have a code for a FREE Redbox rental (follow directions on the box).
  • The park is ALWAYS FREE!! There are several in the Tyler area. Try out a different one each day to keep the kids excited.
  • Have the kids help plan dinner: Choose menu, write a grocery list, shop for items, help cook and set a nice table (tacos are easy if you cook the meat). ;oP MMMMM!
  • Eat icecream for dinner. It's a fun and memorable activity that you obviously won't do all the time. hehe!
  • Invite a friend over for the day as a reward for helping to clean up the house.
  • Read a book with your kids. One funny thing you can do with older kids is to each get a book and take turns reading a line from each book. Sometimes it makes the silliest story.
  • OR just "play" with your kids (Puzzles, Legos, action figures/dolls).
The list is endless. Just think of some things that you liked to do when YOU were a kid.

You'll be glad you did!

Thank you for reading! :o)

CVS Cash Card List (3/11/12 - 3/17/12)

The Current CVS Deal:

FREE $10 CVSCash Card when you spend $30 or more on select products with your CVS Extra Care Card. (Look for the CVSCash Card symbol [pictured above] on specially marked items in the circular and in store. The CVSCash Card is not actual cash and will pay out in the form of a gift card.)

Limit 5. While supplies last. No rainchecks. See stores for FULL details.

***The details state: "While supplies last." But to get around that, you can simply have the $10 put onto a regular Gift Card. I have been using the same actual card for months now and they loaded it with my $10.***

The $30 purchase is BEFORE the coupons, so you can really save a bundle when you factor in the $10 CVSCash card. One trick I have figured out is that you don't have to be over or even exactly at the $30 mark on reward deals at CVS, so if an item is $9.99 the 1c difference to the next dollar amount does not matter toward your total. (I always try to get it less than 50c from the $30 mark, but some people have reported a wider margin.)

The items that are qualifying purchases for this week are (prices listed are BEFORE Qs):
  •  Lay's Chips 10-10.5oz selected varieties (excludes Baked) or Kettle chips 8.5oz = 2/$6
  • Gardetto's or Chex Mix 5.5-8.75oz = 2/$3
  • Gold Emblem Syrup 24oz or sugar 4lbs = $2.79
  • Nescafe Taster's Choice Instant coffee 7oz = $6.99
  • Duracell AAA, AA 16pk, C, D 8pk, 9-volt 4pk, or Ultra Power AAA, AA 12pk batteries = $10.99
  • Craig 4GB MP3 plus video player w/2.8" color touch screen or 4.3" music and movie player w/touch screen display (limit 2) = $49.99 ++
  • Cottonelle or Cottonelle Ultra Bathroom tissue 18pk = $8.99
  • Select Women's or Men's Designer Fragrances = start at $14.99
  • L'eggs Sheer Hosiery Pantyhose or knee highs (excludes Stylessentials) = BOGO50%
  • Nature Made: Multi 60-250ct, Vit-B 60-300ct, Biotin 50ct, Folic Acid 250ct or Vit-D 90-300ct = BOGO
  • Centrum, Centrum Silver, or Pro Nutrients: Ultra Men's, Ultra Women's multivitamins 100ct or Pro Nutrients 14-100ct = BOGO50%
++ These items show that they will award a $10Cash Card for the purchase of this item alone.
* These items were marked in the circular as having current Qs out in this week's Sunday paper.

Be sure to maximize your savings for the BEST deal by using Qs on as many items in your purchase as you can on these CVSCash Card deals!! ;o)

If I missed an item in the ad or there are other unadvertised items on the gift card list that are not listed here, I do apologize for human error. Also, I can not be held responsible if the store does not allow a deal for any reason.
